‘After completing my bachelor’s in Business Administration, International Finance and Accounting Management at the Hanze University of Applied Sciences in Groningen, I chose to stay in the Netherlands. After making this choice, my work had to meet a number of criteria. My work had to be in the same field as my study at a company operating at the international level – a company that gave paramount importance to career opportunities. I realize that I had a lot of demands and aspirations.
Then the position of Management Accountant at Bunge Loders Croklaan crossed my path. It seemed the perfect job for me right from the start: newly graduated and then working for a worldwide producer of oils and fats. I still remember finding out during the job interview that the roots of the company go all the way back to one of those typical old Dutch windmills. As an American, that was quite fascinating. What I also remember is that the company is very loyal to its employees. I have been working for Bunge Loders Croklaan for almost four years now and I am still very satisfied.
Currently, I am working as an analyst for the Corporate Finance Team and I am busy with a study to become a certified accountant. From the accounting position for which I was initially appointed, I came into contact with many different work processes and opportunities. In my new role, I am now in contact with European colleagues and with our subsidiary companies in the USA, Malaysia, Egypt, the Sahel and South America. It is nice to be doing varied work with great colleagues. I have found my niche and am happy to continue being part of the team.’
