‘When I was a boy, I would pass the local baker in the early morning as I was walking my dog, and I would smell the aroma of freshly baked bread. Even today, it’s still the loveliest smell in the world for me. It inspired me to become a baker. Later in life, Bunge Loders Croklaan gave me the chance to become a food scientist as well.
I started at Bunge Loders Croklaan 6 ½ years ago as Application & Technical Support Manager Margarine and Bakery. That’s quite a mouthful! Together with the sales department, I helped produce the special fats made at our Maasvlakte refinery. These fats are mainly for the margarine industry in Europe.
Since then, I’ve advanced to a role where I’m responsible for all the fats in our European bakery products. To achieve this, I have had the chance to develop project management, sales and leadership skills. All to give our customers the best possible service.
